Young Neisi Dajomes and her siblings train in a small and simple weightlifting gym located in a quiet and humble town in Ecuador. They see in this sport a way of life and the great incentive to improve themselves day by day, to fulfill their Olympic dreams.
Neisi is the daughter of Colombian refugees who came to Ecuador running away from violence.
She started training at a young age, following her brother's footsteps. His trainer discovered her potential on one of Neisi' visits to the gym and since her mother didn't have the means, he decided to support her, both in her training and financially, taking her to live with him and practically becoming a father to her.
In August 1st 2021, after overcoming hardship and the death of her beloved brother and mother, Neisi Dajomes became the first Ecuadorian woman to win an Olympic Medal, thus becoming an example for every girl in this country and a role model for people all over our nation.
For the past 7 years, we've been following Neisi's career and personal development, and she's become a real inspiration for all our team, because of her deep faith, conviction and strength. It is this attitude in life that has taken her to conquer so many goals and become a heroine worth highlighting and emulating. For this reason, we have a commitment to her and her family, but also to our society at large, to take this story to the big screen and reach as much people as possible with the message “dreams come true if you work hard at them”, as Neisi has.
